Charity Donations this week will be given to St Rollox Community Outreach.
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated at this morning's service. The white linen cloths will be on alternate pews and we would ask you to sit only in these pews. This will allow an elder to serve you with bread and wine from the pew in front. There will be stewards to assist you and we hope that this will not distract from the meaning of the celebration.
Next week's Sunday morning service: will be conducted by Rev. Lynsey Brennan.
Alpha: please continue to include Alpha in your daily prayers – pray that the course will deepen people's love and faith in being a disciple of Jesus.
Prayer Group: meets tomorrow evening (5th October) in the Jubilee Hall from 7:30-8:30pm. All welcome to come along.
Griefshare is a 13-week course set up to walk alongside folks who have lost someone recently or years ago. The course will be led by Rev. John. It begins this Wednesday, (7th October) at 10.30am in the Centenary Room of St Paul's. It will last for 90 mins and is confidential. Vestry Hour takes place on a Wednesday morning (10:00-12:00) in the Minister's Room at St Paul's. If you have any pastoral or spiritual concerns, both Rev. Lynsey Brennan (0744 7949301) and Rev. John McGregor (07387 851020) are there for you and to help in any way that they can. If you are aware of someone else in the church community in need of support, please also contact Lynsey, John or Hilary at the church office.
The Guild: our first meeting of the new session will be held tomorrow at 2.00p.m. in the Large Hall. Our guests will be the Semitones, a group from the Westerton Male Voice Choir who provide wonderful entertainment. Everyone will be very welcome.
We ask members not to bring capitation money with them on the first week - all will be explained!
St Paul's Church Society - 60th Birthday: there will be an afternoon tea this Saturday (10th October) at 2.30pm to celebrate 60 years of the society. Could members of the society please add their names to the signup sheet at the back of the church to assist with catering.
Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal: any items for the shoe boxes can be left in the Large Hall. Filled shoe boxes can be left at the back of the church or in the Large Hall. This Saturday (10th October) from 9:30 – 11:30, we would appreciate helpers for wrapping and packing.
Men's Association: our first meeting of our new session is on Monday, 12th October at 2.00pm in the Jubilee Hall (please note change of day and time!). Our speaker will be Dr. Megan Kasten from the University of Glasgow whose topic is Govan Stones and related Sculpture in Scotland. All are welcome to join us.
Coffee Morning: the Men's Association's Coffee Morning will be held on Saturday, 31st October (10:00-12:00) – please put in your diary!
Tickets (£2.50 each, no charge for young children) will be available for sale at the back of the Church on Sunday mornings throughout October or payment can be made at the door on Saturday 31st. All donations will be given to Bags Full of Love.
The Beacon: please let Ann Macleod know if you would like to volunteer to help even if you are able to just do a day or two occasionally – that would be a big help!

St Paul's on Tour: information sheets, together with personal detail forms, are now at the back of the church for anyone wishing to join our 2027 holiday in North Wales. Deadline for return is 31st October. Anne Ritchie
Stamp New Appeal: please donate used stamps/collections as every little helps and will support the work of Alzheimer Scotland – information posters at the collection box in the Strathblane Road entrance and also in the Large Hall on the BreakAway notice board.
