Tea and Coffee served in the Large Hall after the Morning and Evening Service.

Cards & Books  Attention all elders – Cards are now available for sale entitled “Sorry your were out” ideal for District visits.  Cost price 50p.  A new stock of Get Well Cards and Pastoral cards are available at the back of the church every Sunday.  The next Bookstall will be Sunday 2nd October and will run for three weeks.

 

The Boys’ Brigade The 1st/2nd Milngavie Company, which is attached to St Paul’s and other Milngavie Churches, meets in St Luke’s Church Hall.  The Anchor Boys (P2-P3) and Junior Section (P4-P6) will enrol tomorrow evening at 6.15pm and 7.30pm respectively.  New members welcome then and on subsequent Monday evenings.  The Company Section (P7-S6) has now enrolled, but new members will be welcome any Friday evening at 7.30pm.  Further details for from the Captain, Euan McKay (956-6125).

 

Christian Solidarity Worldwide The next meeting of the support group of CSW is on Friday 10th September at 7.30pm at Findlay Memorial church, St. George’s Cross Glasgow

 

The Church Choir starts rehearsals on Thursday, 16 September at 7.45pm in the church.  New members will be made most welcome for all sections of the choir; extra sopranos would give us a tremendous boost but additional voices for the alto, tenor and bass sections would certainly be most welcome. There is no audition!  Please speak to Derek Norval or any member of the choir for further information.

 

Church Visitors District 63, Falloch Road/Ardlui Gardens, has been without a Church Visitor for some considerable time and I am now very concerned to fill this vacancy at the beginning of the new church season.   Please do telephone if you can help.  Elizabeth Bragg 956 2480

 

Harvest Thanksgiving The Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be on Sunday 19th of September.  The Church will be open on Friday evening, 17th from 7pm-8pm and from 10am to 12 o’clock on Saturday 18th of September for any donations of food, flowers and plants.  Envelopes will be in the pews on Sunday 12th and 19th of September for those wishing to make a monetary donation.  As in previous years food donations will be taken to the Salvation Army and the Lodging House Mission and flowers and plants will be delivered by elders to those of our members who may be ill, housebound, in hospital or in nursing homes.

 

St Paul’s Cycle Ride 18th September 2010  Anyone who is interested in joining the cycle team should speak to Colin Grant or Fergus no later than today.  The route will be from Milngavie to Callander, 35 miles, mainly off road with some challenging hills.    The sponsorship money will go to the work of the Preshal Trust.  Sponsor sheets are at the back of the church.

 

The Guild As Mr. Buchanan has to attend an important meeting on Presbytery on Monday the 20th of September the special meeting of the Guild to discuss the Constitution will now take place on Monday 13th of September at 7.30pm in the Large hall.  All available members are asked to attend.  Elizabeth McEwan

 

Salvation Army Praise Night There will be a Praise Service on October 3rd at 7.30pm here in St. Paul’s when the band of the Salvation Army Clydebank Citadel will highlight some of the items on their new CD along with other favourite pieces. 

Copies of the CD will be available on the night.

 

Friendship House A.G.M. will be held on Friday Sept. 17th at 7.00pm, within St Andrews Church.  (This is adjacent to FH.)  There will be a short act of worship, preceeding the business part of the meeting, followed by a talk given by a member of the Preshall Trust. All present and former helpers at FH are warmly invited to attend, and a short time of fellowship will be enjoyed in the hall at the close of the proceedings.

 

The Traidcraft Stall is available after the morning service in the Large Hall.
